Planning the Valley’s Future, Together

Matanuska-Susitna Valley’s Metropolitan Planning Organization ensures federal transportation funding is distributed fairly, with community voices at the center.

What We Do

MVP is the federally-recognized Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Mat-Su Valley. Our role is to coordinate local, state, and tribal voices in shaping long-term transportation priorities. Without an MPO, communities in the Valley would not qualify for critical federal funding.

MVP coordinates transportation planning across the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, including Wasilla, Palmer, Knik, and surrounding communities. The MPO boundary defines the region eligible for federal transportation funding.
